Laura Valentina Socco is a Full Professor of Applied Geophysics at Politecnico di Torino. She works on the development of geophysical methods for different applications ranging from hydrocarbon and mineral exploration, seismic hazard, cultural heritage. She has focused her research work on methods based on guided wave propagation applying stochastic inversions, data-driven processing methods and multiparametric data integration. She is the recipient of the Conrad Schlumberger Award (EAGE – 2014) and of the Outstanding Educator Award (SEG – 2019), she has been Honorary Lecturer for SEG in 2013 and has published more than 150 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers.
