Claudio Canuto is a Full Professor of Numerical Analysis since October 1986, currently at Politecnico di Torino, Italy. The scientific work is addressed to the study of discretization methods for partial differential problems, with a particular emphasis on high-order methods (spectral and h-p finite element methods), multi-level methods, adaptive methods, with applications to Fluid Dynamics. Other research topics include: wavelet methods; coupling of models; uncertainty quantification; Eulerian models of dynamics on networks; numerical simulation in industry and society; virtual element methods; immersed boundary methods. This activity has produced 3 research books, 1 monograph, 2 conference proceedings, 7 book chapters, over 70 papers on refereed international journals, 11 papers on refereed international proceedings.
