During these difficult weeks, as researchers, we all wondered about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Internet traffic, and our Universities and teaching in general. In Politecnico di Torino, have collected some data to support this evidence, comparing data before and after the pandemic.
Polito deployed an in-house e-learning platform, so our measurements let us show how the community of students and colleagues engaged in online teaching and smart working each day. On the nice part, the Internet coped with the sudden need for connectivity and bandwidth, and the overall performance is still good to let students access online teaching even if scattered throughout Italy (and worldwide).
