Karol Cascavita is a PhD student at the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the Politecnico di Torino. Her research interests include advanced numerical methods such as Virtual Element methods and Hybrid high-order methods, which will be explored in her PhD thesis. In particular, the research project aims to develop advanced and innovative parallel numerical methods for solving large-scale complex physical models, both model-driven and data-driven.  One key aspect of the PhD thesis will be to take advantage of parallel computing architectures and optimize performance, accuracy and scalability. The area of applications spans to real-world problems in fields such as fluid dynamics.
