Partecipating Member - Numerical climate modelling, climate data analysis and diagnostics, geophysical fluid dynamics

Jost von Hardenberg is a full professor at Politecnico di Torino. His research interests include modelling climate and the fundamental processes which regulate the system earth, particularly geophysical flows, biosphere-climate interactions, the
hydrological cycle and the development and application of stochastic precipitation downscaling methods. Current work includes the development and tuning of the EC-Earth global climate model, with applications to the study of climate impacts in the Mediterranean, the study of precipitation extremes and the investigation of climate tipping points.
